The new course of Umbriafiere SpA begins
Functional and sustainable redesign to host new events and provide suitable services to economic operators. Extraordinary investments to project the exhibition center into the contemporary era. A competent and valuable team, a healthy financial situation with accounts in order and reserves.
A regional exhibition body in sound economic, financial and managerial health, but one that needs a modernized and functional exhibition district. This, in summary, is the picture faced on Thursday, 26 June by the new Board of Directors, composed of President Antonio Forini and directors Giorgio Mencaroni, President of the Umbria Chamber of Commerce, and Donatella Porzi.
As President Forini explained: "My role will be synergistic with the entire Board of Directors and with the need of the Municipality of Bastia Umbra to develop and structure the exhibition district, both from a real-estate point of view and in terms of energy efficiency, in order to provide more services and attract new exhibitors. In particular, efficiency improvements will have direct positive effects both for Umbriafiere S.p.A. and for the Municipality of Bastia Umbra."
The Board of Directors of Umbriafiere Spa, the 100% publicly owned company that manages the activities of the regional exhibition center, whose buildings are owned by the Municipality of Bastia Umbra, met to define and agree on actions, objectives and priorities. It was an opportunity for sharing with the representatives of economic organizations and institutions sitting on the Board, arriving precisely at a time when extraordinary investments have been allocated that can project the exhibition district into the near future. This unrepeatable opportunity is provided by the allocation by the Umbria Region of around EUR 4.5 million in funding for the renovation of the property, together with Umbriafiere S.p.A.'s capacity to directly carry out other necessary interventions.
"We have before us a unique and stimulating challenge," Forini emphasized, "which represents an important opportunity to place a new, cutting-edge and functional venue at the service of the community and the economic fabric. We are convinced that exhibition districts and exhibition bodies must think in terms of reprogramming functions and spaces, opening up new business models and preparing new services. Among the objectives we will work on is configuring Umbriafiere as a functional hub for the regional territory and for central Italy in general. The sector must begin to rethink itself, updating functions and attitudes. Not only a space supporting other organizers and producing its own events, the most important of which is Agriumbria, the national trade fair dedicated to the agricultural world, but also a partner for economic development."
